Metrodome picks up The Hippopotamus
Metrodome Distribution has picked up UK and Ireland rights to ESC's The Hippopotamus. Adapted from Stephen Fry's bestselling novel, the comedy stars Roger Allam and Sam Neill and tells the story of Ted, a disgraced poet tasked with investigating a series of unexplained miracle healings. Shooting begins in August 2015.
Sam Neill joins The Hippopotamus
Sam Neill has joined the cast of ESC's comedy The Hippopotamus. Neill stars as Michael Logan, a self-made millionaire who believes his son David has healing powers. Unaware of David’s unorthodox methods, Michael is determined to share his ‘gift’ with the world. Roger Allam also stars in the ensemble comedy, with further cast to be announced in the coming weeks.
The Woods at Edinburgh International Film Festival
ESF backed The Hallow, the feature debut from Corin Hardy, will have its UK premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2015. Starring Joseph Mawle, the horror tells the story of a conservationist who unwittingly disturbs a host of demonic forces.
StudioCanal boards Swallows & Amazons
UK rights to Electric Shadow Fund backed Swallows & Amazons have been snapped up by StudioCanal in Cannes. Shooting begins this summer, with Rafe Spall and Kelly Macdonald leading the cast. Nick Barton of Harbour Pictures commented, “We are delighted that the BFI, HanWay Films, StudioCanal, Screen Yorkshire, Electric Shadow and Ian Maiden have all come on board the project to help realise our vision”
The Blunderer in post-production
The Blunderer, starring Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson, is in post-production. The psychological thriller is produced by Killer Films's Christine Vachon and David Hinojosa, with Ted Hope, Sierra/Affinity, Joe Simpson and John Jencks and Jay Taylor of Electric Shadow Fund.
