ESC launched the Electric Shadow Fund in 2014.
Projects of the fund to date include Philippa Lowthorpe’s family film 'Swallows and Amazons', stylish thriller ‘The Trust’ starring Nicholas Cage and Elijah Wood, Andy Goddard’s ‘A Kind of Murder’ starring Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson, 3D family adventure film ‘Into the Rainbow’, Corin Hardy’s directorial debut ‘The Hallow’, Ron Scalpello’s feature length football documentary ‘Bobby’, Vaughn Stein’s upcoming drama thriller ‘Terminal’ featuring Margot Robbie, and Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui’s ‘McQueen’ feature length documentary about legendary fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
In 2018, John Jencks, Jay Taylor and Joe Simpson set up a new fund called J Cubed Film Finance, which offers finance in the senior debt position on feature film projects. J Cubed Film Finance operates separately to the Electric Shadow Fund.
Since its inception, J Cubed has closed financing on over 10 projects, including: Carol Morley’s ‘Out of Blue’, Daniel Radcliffe starring ‘Guns Akimbo’, 'SAS: Red Notice’ based on the book by Andy McNab, Liam Neeson-starring ‘Honest Thief’, and ‘The Stand In’ starring Drew Barrymore.
